On an extremely wet and windy day in Kanturk last Saturday, Fiona Mangan secured a very well earned bronze medal at the National Cycling Road Race Championships.
After 60k of riding in the bunch, Fiona escaped in an 8 girl breakaway on the first climb and stayed away in this group until the end. Ultimately it came down to a sprint finish between this group of 8, with Fiona capturing the bronze medal right on the line.
A fantastic result for the girl after a turbulent few months of illness. The result is even more amazing when it is considered that she was riding with a broken collarbone 👏 🔥.
